Lewiston Public Library May programs, events and activities

The Lewiston Public Library, 305 S. Eighth St., in the Village of Lewiston, announces the following programs, events and activities for the month of May.

Clubs and More

•The Library board of trustees will meet Monday, May 6, at 5 p.m.

•The Lewiston Book Club will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, May 7, at 1:30 p.m. For further information, contact Anita Mallimo at 754-7714.

•A computer basics class will be offered on Thursday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

•The Lewiston Writers' Group will meet on Tuesday, May 7, and Monday, May 20, from 5 to 8 p.m. For more information, visit http://www.lewistonwritersgroup.com.

•The Dead Beats Society will meet on Monday, May 13, at 6 p.m.

•The Knitting Club meets every Friday, from 1 to 3 p.m. No registration is required; knitters of all skill levels are welcome. For more information, contact Ellen Comerford at 716-754-4144.

•The Friends of the Library will meet Tuesday, May 14, at 6 p.m.

Story Times

•Alphabet Soup, a story time for ages 3-5, meets on Mondays, May 6 and 13, at 10:30 a.m.

•Lewiston Lapsit story time for infants (ages birth to 23 months) meets Wednesdays, May 1, 8, 15 and 29, at 10 a.m.

•Toddler Time, featuring music, finger play, stories and crafts for ages 2 to 3 years old, meets Tuesdays, May 7, 14 and 28, at 10:30 a.m.

•Story Time with Mrs. Leardini, featuring music, stories, and crafts for all ages, meets Thursdays, May 2, 9, 16 and 30, at 10:30 a.m.

The library will be closed on Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day.

Library hours: Monday-Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesday-Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday, noon to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
