The Alex Friesen Summer Nationals is a highly coveted event within the northeast short track modified fold. Offering some of the biggest paydays for the 358 Modified competitors, the Alex Friesen Summer Nationals is a must-attend event on many calendars. This year will be no exception as Jamie and Joel Friesen up the winner's share to $13,000.
Slated for Friday, Aug. 16, Coors Light and Mighty Taco along with the management at Ransomville Speedway will present the 29th Alex Friesen Summer Nationals. Offering free camping, Ransomville Speedway will welcome fans from all around western New York and southern Ontario, looking to enjoy one of the biggest events in the region.
The Big R is very excited about this event. The 100-lap 358 Modified affair is sure to attract the "who's who" of dirt track racing, including the "hot shoes" from Brewerton Speedway.
Our friends at Brewerton Speedway have once again given their modified drivers the night off to allow them the opportunity to chase the big prize. We can't thank John Wight, Harvey Fink, and Cory Reed enough for working with us. Working together benefits us all - promoters, drivers, fans, sponsors, etc."
Along with the top DIRTcar stars from central New York and beyond, the very stout weekly Mighty Taco 358 Modified field at Ransomville Speedway is sure to put on one of the best shows of the season. If last year's event is any indication we are in for a barnburner. Action throughout the field kept fans on the edge of their seats, including a side-by-side dual between student and teacher, Stewart Friesen and Danny Johnson. Friesen went on to take the victory, his second in the storied event.
Who will take this year's top payday? There is only one way to find out - join us on Friday, Aug. 16, for the 29th annual Alex Friesen Summer Nationals presented by Coors Light and Mighty Taco. Special event T-shirts and hoodies will be available all season long at the Big R.
Pit notes, Big R's Test, Tunes and Time is Friday, April 26, and the Lid Lifter is May 3.
