Town of Niagara Police Blotter for April 18, 2013

The following is a sampling of calls taken by the Town of Niagara Police between April 9 and 15. A total of 132 calls were taken during that time period.

Tuesday, April 9

•Lockport Road and Male Court, animal complaint. Injured deer reported. Patrol checked area with negative results.

•2300 block of Military Road, larceny. Complainant reported someone took four tires and rims off a 2006 Chevy Malibu trade-in vehicle parked in the rear of the business.

•4700 block of Miller Road, animal problem. Complainant provided video of neighbors allowing their dog to defecate on neighbors' lawns. Owner advised to pick up after the dog.

Wednesday, April 10

•7800 block of East Britton Drive, ATV complaint. Area checked with negative results.

•4600 block of Witmer Road, false alarm. False alarm at a business. Building checked with keyholder

•2400 block of Military Road, false alarm. Business appeared secure; no keyholder available.

Thursday, April 11

•7000 block of Packard Road, domestic. Mother reported her 12-year-old daughter was pinching and shoving her and refusing to obey house rules. Patrol spoke with daughter and advised the mother to contact juvenile authorities for further assistance if needed.

•1900 block of Military Road, shoplifting. A 54-year-old Buffalo man was arrested after a store's loss prevention officer observed him select and conceal clothing valued at $1,650.

Friday, April 12

•1600 block of Military Road, shoplifting. A 24-year-old Ontario man was arrested after he replaced his own sneakers with a $51.99 pair from a mall shoe store and left the scene, leaving his old sneakers behind.

•Military Road, traffic ticket. Officer observed a vehicle traveling northbound at speeds of 48 to 50 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Saturday, April 13

•8100 block of Cherry Lane, larceny. Woman reported she saw the headlights go on in one of her vehicles in the driveway and went to investigate. She found a male in dark clothing inside her vehicle. The suspect fled, taking her GPS valued at $400.

•7300 block of Greenview Road, larceny. Complainant reported that sometime overnight someone entered her unlocked vehicle and stole two GPS units. She was advised to lock her vehicles because there have been similar incidents in the area.

•6600 block of Woodside Place, larceny. Complainant reported someone entered her vehicle overnight and took $5 in change and a tire gauge.

•4500 block of Fox Lane, EMS. Patrol responded for a 45-year-old man who was dizzy. Family reported the man had been drinking the night before. He refused treatment.

•Isherwood Drive and John Street, traffic stop. A 35-year-old LaSalle Avenue man was arrested after patrol observed him quickly turn into a driveway, nearly striking a parked car. He said he turned quickly because he thought he was getting pulled over. His license was revoked due to 17 suspensions, plus the license plate belonged to another car, also with a suspended status due to no insurance. The suspect said he put his cousin's plates on his own car so he could drive to his girlfriend's house.

Sunday, April 14

•Hyde Park Boulevard and Lockport Road, aid assist. Patrol assisted the Niagara County Sheriff's patrol with a traffic stop and drug offense arrest.

•Porter Road and Military Road traffic tickets. Patrol made seven traffic stops for offenses including speeding, no seatbelt, no proof of insurance, and driver talking on a cell phone

Monday, April 15

•4700 block of Military Road, larceny. A Whitney Avenue woman reported that she let a customer use her cell phone after he said he was involved in an automobile accident. The male walked away with her phone and drove away in a small green Ford.

Tuscarora Road, juvenile problem. Kids reported playing near railroad tracks under the bridge.

•3100 block of Sadlo Drive, noise complaint. Ongoing problem with neighbor playing music loudly.
