"From the Mouth of the Lower Niagara River: Stories of Four Historic Communities" was published to commemorate 200 years of peace between Canada and the U.S. The book showcases the rich history of Lewiston, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Queenston and Youngstown. Four teams of authors in two counties came together over the course of three years to share history, oral stories, anecdotes, maps and photos.

The Lewiston team of Michelle Kratts and Teresa Sharp Donaldson will discuss their inspiration for the portion of the book "From the Mouth of the Lower Niagara River" on Monday, April 22, at 6:30 p.m., as part of a Historic Association of Lewiston gathering at the Historic Lewiston Opera Hall, 736 Center St. The public is invited to attend this free event.

Kratts and Sharp Donaldson will be available to signing copies of the book. Refreshments will be served.
