Tops Friendly Markets wins CenterState Corporation for Economic Opportunity's Business of the Year Award

Tops Friendly Markets, a leading full-service grocery retailer in upstate New York, northern Pennsylvania and western Vermont, has announced the company has won CenterState Corporation for Economic Opportunity's (CenterState CEO's) Business of the Year Award in the "more than 50 employee" category. The award celebrates companies that have achieved growth, and gone above and beyond in the past year to distinguish themselves as leaders in the business community.

Tops was among three finalists selected for the 50-plus employee category. Selection criteria included: provider of choice; employer of choice; financial performance; innovation and commitment to the community. A committee of community business leaders made the final selection and the award was presented at CenterState CEO's annual meeting, held on April 8 at the Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center in Syracuse.

The CenterState Corporation for Economic Opportunity is a 12-county business leadership and economic development organization, based in Syracuse. CenterState CEO represents more than 2,000 members and serves as a regional economic, community and business development catalyst, working to achieve regional growth and total community prosperity through partnerships, planning and problem solving.
