Community Missions of Niagara Frontier will present its annual spring concert, "Gospel Fest," on Friday, April 26, at 7 p.m. This year's program will be held at First Baptist Church, 554 Main St. (corner of Fourth), Niagara Falls. Doors open for seating at 6:30 p.m. "Gospel Fest" is a free, family-friendly event that is open to the public.

"Gospel Fest" is in its 15th year of bringing an array of local Western New York performers to the stage. The goal is to bring the faith community together for a time of song, celebration and unity that encourages the community to work together to serve the poor, the marginalized, and the oppressed. A brief presentation of the work of Community Missions is offered during the concert.

Attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to Community Missions' food pantry, if possible. A free-will offering will be taken to help support the work of Community Missions, which includes a homeless shelter, food pantry, soup kitchen, parole re-entry, HIV/AIDS support and other needed services. A reception with light refreshments follows the concert.

This year's "Gospel Fest" performers include:

Men In White Choir (Buffalo)

Christ Redemption Tabernacle (Niagara Falls)

Revelation (St. Paul Lutheran Church, North Tonawanda)

Mt. Erie Male Chorus (Mt. Erie Baptist Church, Niagara Falls)

The Gathering Band (Pendleton Center United Methodist Church, North Tonawanda)

"Come See A Man" Praise Singers (Niagara Falls)

Tribe of Judah (Grand Island)

Ami Measer with members of the CrossRoads Blues Project (Buffalo)

There are opportunities to be a sponsor of "Gospel Fest." Sponsorship dollars help CMI in this effort to raise awareness in the community about the agency's many services, as well as provide services to those in need. Potential sponsors can find complete information at the "Gospel Fest" website or by contacting the Rev. Mark Breese at 716-285-3403, ext. 2259, or [email protected]. Sponsorship opportunities begin for as little as $25.
