The Friends of Local History will present a lecture by Dorothy Rolling, Town of Niagara historian, on the beginnings of the City of Niagara Falls, which was once a part of the Town of Niagara.

The power point presentation will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, in the auditorium of the Niagara Falls Public Library, 1425 Main St., Niagara Falls. The program is free and open to the public.

Rolling is also the former Niagara County historian. Born and raised in the Town of Niagara, her family has operated Marsh's General Store on Packard Road for four generations. Rolling's mother, Mary Marsh, was also town historian until her death in 1986. As town historian, Rolling represents the town on the board of Oakwood Cemetery where a section of the cemetery is still owned by the town. She is also a member of the Town of Niagara Historical Society and the Niagara County Genealogical Society.
