Town of Niagara Police Blotter for Feb. 7, 2013

The following is a sampling of calls received by the Town of Niagara Police between Jan. 30 and Feb. 3. During that time period, patrols answered 102 calls.

Wednesday, Jan. 30

•8300 block of Ziblut Court, false alarm. Patrol responded for a residential alarm. Homeowner stated everything was OK.

•7100 block of Packard Road, aid assist. Patrol assisted state police with locating a female who absconded from Mount St. Mary's Hospital and Health Center's emergency room before her treatment was completed.

Thursday, Jan. 31

•1800 Military Road, larceny. Patrols arrested two Buffalo women for shoplifting clothing at the mall. Three males with the women fled the area.

•8500 block of Porter Road, landlord-tenant dispute. Patrol responded to harassment complaint by a tenant. The only contact between the property manager/tenant prior to patrol's arrival was the manager ringing the doorbell to deliver an eviction notice. Advised to refer to civil court.

•4200 block of Mohawk Parkway, assist citizen. Patrol stood by while caller collected personal belongings from the residence.

Friday, Feb. 1

•3000block of Panama Street, EMS. Patrol responded for a male who overdosed on acetaminophen pills because of a severe toothache.

•Military Road, Porter-Packard roads, Miller Road and Colonial Drive, Grauer Road, Lockport Road, Blank and Tuscarora roads, traffic tickets. Patrols issued tickets in 11 separate instances for various offenses, including use of a cellphone while driving, failure to stop for red light, failure to stop at a stop sign, not wearing a seatbelt, expired inspection and speeding.

Saturday, Feb. 2

•1500 block of Military Road, vandalism. Patrol responded to a report of a female kicking the side view mirrors of vehicles in the parking lot. An 18-year-old Lewiston woman was arrested.

•Packard Road, disabled vehicle. Patrol responded for a vehicle in a ditch. Driver said he spun out on Packard and went into the ditch, but was not injured.

•I-190 South, assist state police. Vehicles were reportedly hitting some object near the Witmer Road exit. Patrol found two vehicles with flat tires. A man in one vehicle reported he had come to assist his mother who had a flat tire, hit the same object and got a flat on his own vehicle. Object was located and removed.

•2500 block of Military Road, shoplifting. Three officers responded for a 34-year-old Elmwood Avenue male, who had stolen a television from the store recently and was attempting to push a shopping cart out of the store with another television. The man resisted arrest. His car was parked outside the store entrance in a fire lane.

Sunday, Feb. 3

•1600 Military Road, shoplifting. A mall business reported a woman filled a bag with various items of clothing, valued at about $700 and left with out paying.

•2900 block of Nevada Avenue, animal problem. A woman reported that a tan and white pit bull tried to attack her dog in her back yard, than pushed in the bottom of her storm door when she took her dog inside.

•Tuscarora Road and Effie Drive, juvenile problem. A passerby reported a group of kids throwing ice at vehicles on the road.
