David Woodley Sr., a longtime Lewiston resident, is shown with nurse Brittany Harris donating blood this week at a Red Cross blood drive at First Presbyterian Church in the village. Woodley is a notable giver. He reached the donation level of 20 gallons of blood on Nov. 21, 2012. On Wednesday, he started his 21st gallon.
Donating is very important to Woodley. He first donated in 1980 when his brother was severely injured in a boating accident and needed blood. As a result of that event, Woodley has firsthand knowledge of the need for blood. He plans to donate his as long as he can.
