John A. McCarthy of Grand Island entered into rest on Jan. 16, 2013.
He was the husband of 56 years of Marlene McCarthy; father of Ronald (the late Marlena), Richard (Christy), Daniel (Jocelyn) and Timothy McCarthy. He is also survived by six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of Frances (Calvin) Voigt and Michael (Laura) McCarthy, son of the late Frank and Anna McCarthy.
Friends may call Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Kaiser Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen R.C. Church, 2100 Baseline Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Grand Island Lions Club, P.O. Box 71, Grand Island.
