Mallory Hagan from New York was crowned Miss America 2013 on Saturday night at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, edging out first runner up Miss South Carolina 2012 Ali Rogers in the final round of the annual beauty competition. The show aired live for the third consecutive year on ABC.
Chris Harrison and Brooke Burke-Charvet hosted the occasion, and this year's panel of esteemed judges included Bradley Bayou, Cheryl Burke, Sam Champion, Mary Hart, Daymond John, McKayla Maroney and Miss America 2009 Katie Stam Irk.
The Miss America Organization is the world's largest provider of scholarship assistance for young women and one of the nation's leading achievement programs. Last year, the Miss America Organization and its state and local affiliates made available more than $45 million in scholarship assistance.
