Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra holds auditions for "Kiss Me Kate"

The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra is still seeking talented and experienced musical theater performers for several roles in "Kiss Me Kate" in concert on April 27. The BPO is seeking to fill the roles of Lois, Bill, Gremio, Hortensio, Hattie, Paul, Gangster #1 and Gangster #2.

Auditions will be held by appointment beginning at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, and Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Kleinhans Music Hall, 3 Symphony Circle, Buffalo. To request an audition time, submit a resume to [email protected].  

Those auditioning should prepare one song selection and provide their own accompanist or recorded accompaniment (a CD player will be provided). They may also be asked to read an excerpt from the "Kiss Me Kate" script and/or to sing an excerpt from "Kiss Me Kate."

Cast members must be available for:

  • Cast rehearsals the week of April 22;
  • Rehearsals with the BPO from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Friday April 26, and from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 27;
  • The concert performance at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 27.
