Paul Beatty, representing Niagara Hospice and the Mighty Niagara Half Marathon, presented the Village of Lewiston trustees with a certificate of appreciation prior to Monday's monthly board meeting (as pictured). About 1,300 runners traversed the village on their way to Porter on the Lake.

"The feedback was just outstanding," Beatty said.

The board, in turn, presented a certificate of appreciation - and a series of gift cards - to Roy "Bud" Myers, who is retiring after "a couple hundred" years working as a wildlife trapper for the village.

"Whenever anyone had a problem in the village ... this gentleman took care of it," Mayor Terry Collesano said.
