Brian Stiller, medical center director of the VA Western New York Healthcare System, was the guest speaker at a meeting of the Grand Island American Legion Post on Wednesday, Nov. 28, held at the Grand Island Moose Lodge 180. There were nearly 30 in attendance.

Stiller discussed the system, calling it the largest integrated health care system in America, that serves more than 50,000 local veterans. The United States is rare in that it has a veteran-specific system of health care, Stiller noted.

Before Stiller's discussion, Erik Anderson, governor of the Loyal Order of Moose, pictured at right, and Amy Garten, junior regent of the Women of the Moose, presented a check for $300 to VA Western New York Healthcare System.
