Jim Hagerman has been appointed deputy highway superintendent for the Town of Niagara Highway Department, replacing John Sullivan, who retired in late October.
Hagerman has been working for the Town of Niagara since 1994. He spent his first year in the town's old Sanitation Department. He then moved to the Water Department for 10 years and finally moved to the Highway Department seven years ago.
Highway Superintendent Robert Herman said Hagerman's "hard work and dedication to the job, as well as his qualifications and skill level, has proven he is the man for the job."
Herman said the appointment does not create or add another job, but fills the vacancy left by Sullivan.
