The Center for Women at Mount St. Mary's Hospital was formally unveiled to the public on Wednesday, Nov. 28, with a blessing and open house.
The center has recently completed two phases of a three-phase, $2 million renovation on the second floor of the hospital to further enhance the women's and maternity services it provides to the community.
"Our bright, new facilities bring new moms the best comforts of home, and all women enhanced quality of care with the latest state-of-the-art technology," said Margaret Brady, director of women's services at Mount St. Mary's. "If you haven't been to Mount St. Mary's in a while, we encourage women throughout the community to consider stopping by for a tour of the newly renovated space and to meet our team of talented and dedicated physicians and staff.
A highlight of the dedication was the showing of the new Dr. Thomas E. Comerford Jr. Labor, Delivery and Recovery Suite, which is in recognition of the late physician who practiced in the community for more than 30 years.
The Center for Women has all new physician offices, treatment rooms, 4D ultrasound, and a new labor and delivery suite all on one floor. New operating rooms, an enhanced nursery and renovated private patient rooms are next on the schedule.
The Center for Women's medical team includes obstetricians and gynecologists Dr. Faraj Touchan, Dr. Sharmilee Thota, Dr. Mark Weissman, Dr. Rachel Weselak, Dr. Judy Wesolowski and nurse practitioner Andrea Rosati.
