Event will feature light show that will continue nightly through Jan. 1, 2013
The Roswell Park Cancer Institute community will gather for the annual Tree of Hope lighting ceremony Friday, Dec. 7, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at RPCI. A holiday celebration for all whose lives have been touched by cancer, this family-friendly event will culminate with the lighting of the Tree of Hope by a cancer survivor from Carly's Club for Kids & Cancer Research in WNY.
This outdoor event, co-sponsored by WIVB News Channel 4/WNLO CW 23, West Herr Automotive and Xerox, will include live entertainment and holiday-themed activities throughout Kaminski Park & Gardens. Parking is available in RPCI's on-campus parking ramp (Carlton Street at Elm Street, Buffalo).
New to this year's celebration is an animated light show presented by Xerox. Beginning at the Tree of Hope, Kaminski Park will light up with a dazzling display of nearly 30,000 energy-efficient LED lights orchestrated to music. The 13-minute light show, open to the public, will continue Dec. 8 to Jan. 1, 2013, running every 30 minutes between 5 and 10 p.m.
