Vocalis Chamber Choir to present annual Christmas concerts

On Saturday, Dec. 8, at 8 pm, the Vocalis Chamber Choir presents its annual Christmas concert at the Karpeles Manuscript Museum at Elmwood and North streets in Buffalo. A Western New York tradition, the choir will present traditional and contemporary holiday favorites in the acoustic of this architectural treasure. Celebrate the season and relax to the sweet sounds of an intimate choral Christmas.

A second performance of this concert will be given on Sunday, Dec. 9, at 4 p.m., at Saints Peter and Paul Church, Main Street, Williamsville.

The choir continues its eleventh season with "A Vocalis Christmas," performing Christmas works by Poulenc, Guerrero, Leighton, Chilcott and Rutter, as well as traditional settings of "Silent Night," "Away in a Manger," "We Wish You a Merry Christmas," "Carol of the Bells" and others. Hot cider and refreshments will be served at intermission.

Tickets are $15 at the door. Students with ID will be admitted for $10, whiles guests ages 12 and under are free. For more information, visit www.vocalischamberchoir.org.

Vocális Chamber Choir, a select ensemble of dedicated professionals based in Western New York, is committed to performing great a cappella music of all eras, and to cultivating an awareness of the art of choral singing.
