At its monthly meeting on Monday, Nov. 5, the Grand Island Town Board issued a proclamation honoring Grand Island American Legion Post No. 1346 in recognition of American Legion Membership Month. In making the proclamation, the Town Board urged "all eligible veterans and service members to join the Grand Island Post No. 1346 American Legion, especially during this month-long membership drive." The proclamation noted that the Legion "promotes Americanism and scholarship programs."
