Village of Lewiston Recreation November activities

The Village of Lewiston Recreation Department announces its November programs. All take place at the Red Brick Municipal Building, 145 N. Fourth St. For further information, call the Recreation Center at 716-754-1990 or visit www.villageoflewiston.net.

•Monday, Nov. 5, from 4 to 7 p.m., "Dress Designing For Barbie." Participants will receive a Barbie doll and a simple gown and will decorate the gown with beads, jewels, ribbons. They will style the doll's hair and design jewelry for it. A glue gun will be used. The class, offered at no cost, is for children 5 years and older; those under age 8 should have an adult helper. Class size is limited. All supplies are included. Call 716-754-1990 to register.

•Tuesday, Nov. 6, 4 or 6 p.m., Thanksgiving crafts. Have fun making Thanksgiving decorations. This free event is for children ages 5 years and up. Glue guns will be used.

•Saturday, Nov. 10, 10 a.m., cinnamon holiday ornaments. Participants will work on cinnamon baked ornaments. This free program is for adults and high school students only. Paint will be used, so dress appropriately. All supplies are included.

•Monday, Nov. 12, 10 a.m., "Movie Morning at the Brick." A movie will be shown in the gym. Admission is free and popcorn, candy and drinks will be available for a nominal fee. No preregistration is necessary. Visit www.villageoflewiston.net for more information.

•Monday, Nov. 12, 2:30 p.m., "Spa Day." For girls who like to be pampered, a spa day will be offered complete with nail-polishing, face-painting, hair-braiding, relaxing techniques and healthy snacks. For children ages 6 and older. Pre-registration is required; call 716-754-1990.

•Monday, Nov. 12, 3:30 to 5 p.m., "Sports Day." Offered free of charge for children ages 7 and older, an assortment of sports and games will be available. Call 716-754-1990 to register.

•Friday, Nov. 16, 7 p.m., nighttime wild turkey hunt. Children in grades K through eight will hunt for candy, prizes and, of course, turkeys, all in the dark in Toohey Park behind the Red Brick. Children should bring a flashlight and a basket for their turkeys and other goodies.

In case of rain, the hunt will be held inside. Preregistration is not necessary for this free event. Following the hunt, activities and treats will be offered in the gym.

•Thursday, Nov. 29, 6:30 p.m., "Cookies and Crafts with Santa." Children are invited to attend a cookie social with Santa. Along with the cookies, there will be crafts and the opportunity to tell Santa about holiday gift lists. The cost for each child is $5. Seating is limited to 50 children.
