New York bracing for Hurricane Sandy

A storm of historic proportions is bearing down on the east coast. Hurricane Sandy is expected to produce high winds, rain, record surf and flooding. The impact of the storm will be felt in Western New York as forecasters predict the storm will turn left into Pennsylvania and New York. Subways in the city are closed.

Flood watches and high wind warnings are posted for Western New York, with lakeshore flooding probable in Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties. WBBZ has links on its website where you can find out the latest weather, transportation and emergency information.
