The Town of Wheatfield has announced the introduction of two new electronic tools aimed at highlighting existing town businesses, as well as attracting new economic development to the area.

The first tool is the updated Wheatfield Business Directory located on the town's main website http://www.wheatfield.ny.us/economic_development. This list is presented both alphabetically and categorically to help residents locate different services available.

Supervisor Bob Cliffe announced the release Monday stating, "We are still in the process of adding companies to this site. We encourage anyone familiar with a business missing from the list to call or email the Economic Development Committee so it can be added."

The second tool aimed at improving overall economic development is the brand new www.wheatfieldbusiness.com website. Created by the Town's Business Development Focus Group, this site is geared toward companies interested in locating within the town. It provides information about the town's features and demographics as well as incentives that are available to prospective businesses. Also, as part of this new site, local businesses will be highlighted on a regular basis. Residents can look for pictures, interviews and videos of their favorite local companies.

"Assisting businesses brings jobs, helps keep taxes down and becomes a part of making Wheatfield an even better place to live," Cliffe said.
