State Sen. George Maziarz, R-C-Newfane, has received the endorsement of his candidacy for re-election from the Police Conference of New York Inc.

The Police Conference of New York was founding in 1925, has as its objectives the protection of the interests of police officers, the sponsorship of legislation perceived to be in their best interest and the giving of aid and assistance to police officers and their organizations. The conference is a highly regarded, statewide group that represents the interest of 214 police associations, plus eight regional police conferences and a retired police association, with a total membership of 25,000.

"Police Officers put their lives on the line each day to ensure the safety of the community, and as their representative to the State Senate I am proud to support them both legislatively and through the budget process," Maziarz said. "In order to make sure that the residents of this state, and particularly in the 62nd District, remain safe and are afforded the best services from these heroic individuals, it is my duty as a state official to provide them with fair and proper funding and legislative support. I will continue to advocate for these police organizations in Albany, making sure that the people of the 62nd District remain protected and safe. "

The endorsement was approved at pre-convention by the PCNY executive committee, which is comprised of PBA presidents and/or their representatives.
