Democrats to be recognized by Porter committee

The Town of Porter Democratic Committee will honor several local residents as well as former federal and state legislators at a breakfast to be held on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Niagara Frontier Country Club, 1058 Lake Road, beginning at 10 a.m.

Porter Democratic Chairman Ernest Lavigueur reports U.S. Congresswoman Kathy Hochul will be the keynote speaker at the breakfast. Those to be honored include:

•Former U.S. Congressman John LaFalce; former Assemblyman Joseph Pillittere; former Assemblywoman Francine DelMonte; New York state senatorial candidate Amy Witryol; Bill and Joanne Choboy; Betsy Diachun and Marn Weld.

"The Porter Democratic Committee agreed that it was overdue that these Democrats be recognized for their commitment to Democratic values and their involvement in our community," Lavigueur said.

He encourages the public to attend the breakfast and honor these individuals for their service. In addition, residents will have an opportunity to meet with and speak to the Democratic candidates running for public office on Nov. 6.
