The Rev. Paul E. Robinson anticipates nice weather for Sunday's Community Response to Overcoming Poverty Walk at 1 p.m. at Beaver Island State Park.

"The temp. will be an amazing 71, with only a relatively small chance of rain," said the longtime CROP Walk coordinator.

The annual event raises money locally for the Neighbors Foundation and Trinity United Methodist Church's food pantry, and for worldwide hunger relief through Church World Service. To participate, pledge envelopes will be available at the Chamber of Commerce booth at the Taste of Grand Island event on Saturday, Robinson said, and at Key Bank, Creative Leather Concepts/Grand Island Ship Center-Fed X, Designet, the Chamber of Commerce office, Serene Gardens, Niagara Frontier Publications, Trinity United Methodist Church, St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church and Island Presbyterian Church.

Pictured is a diagram of the routes of CROP Walk, which begins at the picnic shelter adjacent to Beaver Island marina.
