Rosanna Macri, office coordinator in Niagara University's Office of Residence Life, has received NU's Outstanding Employee Award. Macri, a Niagara Falls resident, was presented with the award by the Rev. Joseph L. Levesque, C.M., Niagara president.

Nominations for the quarterly award are made by NU employees, students, alumni, parents or other persons who come in contact with NU employees. Honorees are eligible to receive gift certificates to area amenities, movie passes, two days off during the next quarter, NU athletics tickets and a universal parking tag that can be used in any non-handicapped parking spot on campus.

Macri became a member of the university community in March 2000, when she began working in the Office of Continuing Education. She made the move to Residence Life eight years later.

A quote from Macri's supervisor said, "Rosanna's kindness and compassion is what stands out most and makes her a strong candidate to receive this award. She has established excellent working relationships with all the students and staff who interact with Residence Life, and has provided continuity over the past year during a period of transition, both with new staff and changing expectations for the Office of Residence Life."

Macri's commitment to Niagara's students and Vincentian values were also lauded by her supervisor: "Rosanna worked extremely hard during summer orientation to make sure students and families were able to register for sessions and had all the information they needed. Rosanna lives the Vincentian mission of care and service for others in all that she does. She loves Niagara and is a much-deserved recipient of this award!"

Comments from another nomination stated, "Rosanna is a role model for all of us. On move in day, she had a bright smile and unbelievably cheery disposition. She goes above and beyond to make sure others around her are OK and receiving the assistance and encouragement that they need. She was the first face of Niagara for many new students and parents, and I cannot think of anyone better to have on the forefront welcoming our students 'home.' "

Another nomination spoke of Rosanna's attitude and commitment: "She is passionate and loyal, caring and compassionate, and a hard and determined member of this changing and dynamic office. With all the necessary changes taking place around her, Ro has consistently reflected a confidence and willingness that have directly impacted multiple employees, programs and students."

Niagara University congratulates Rosanna Macri for receiving its Outstanding Employee Award.
