Wine tasting party fundraiser for Dollars for Scholars set for Oct. 12

The Grand Island Youth Ambassador program was established 18 years ago to promote interaction and goodwill between the business community and students, and also to bring awareness of the economic development of Grand Island to youth of the community. Each year, two Youth Ambassadors are selected to represent the youth of Grand Island at local business and chamber events such as the Citizen of the Year Awards dinner, Island Happenings, (with the Youth Ambassador hot dog sale), the Fourth of July parade, Chamber Directors Cruise and other chamber, town and community events.

The two chosen Youth Ambassadors will each receive a scholarship award of $750. Applications for the 2013 Youth Ambassadors may be found on the Chamber website www.gichamber.org in the chamber office located at 2257 Grand Island Blvd. or in the Grand Island High School main office.

The chamber is asking for donations to ensure that this event for local students may continue. Sponsorships offered are $25 for bronze level, $50 for silver, $100 for gold and $200 for platinum. All sponsorships will be mentioned in the chamber's monthly newsletter, the Grand Island Community Directory, the Island Dispatch, Grand Island PennySaver, and www.wnypapers.com.

Call the chamber office at 773-3651 or email [email protected] to make a donation.
