Stella Niagara hosts tribute dinner

Stella Niagara officials announce the annual "Be an Angel" tribute dinner for the Sisters of St. Francis of Penance and Christian Charity will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at The Buffalo Club, 388 Delaware Ave., in downtown Buffalo.

Chaired by former Buffalonian the Hon. Judge Thomas Fortkort, this annual event has funded many of the needs of the elderly and infirm sisters who reside in the health center at the Stella Niagara motherhouse in Lewiston.

The highlight of the evening is always the silent auction, featuring a week's vacation in a luxury villa at Ocean Beach Isle, North Carolina, sommelier chosen wine baskets, autographed hockey memorabilia, and extraordinary artwork by Charles Cobelle and famed Vietnamese artist, Lebadang.

Assisting are dinner committee members Caroline Buerk, Delphine Burgio, Dorothy Cosgrove, Dr. David Cristantello, Amy J. Habib, Sister DeSales Hattenberger, Dr. Thomas Jambro, Katherine Juhasz, Ann Nicholson Wright, Francis J. Offermann Jr., Caroline Roeder and J. Elizabeth Tzetzo.
