Assemblyman is honored for second consecutive year for positive voting record

Assemblyman John D. Ceretto was awarded the distinction of membership in the New York Farm Bureau's "Circle of Friends." This is the second consecutive year Ceretto has received this honor.

"I am honored to, once again, be named to the New York Farm Bureau's 'Circle of Friends,' Ceretto said. "Agriculture is such an important part of New York's economy, especially in Niagara County. I cast my votes in Albany recognizing that and will continue to support this vital industry."

In a letter to Ceretto, Dean Norton, president of the New York Farm Bureau, noted, "The New York Farm Bureau 'Circle of Friends' legislative award is based upon your voting record on issues of importance to New York agriculture, as well as other evidence of legislative support during the 2012 legislative session. Membership is reserved for only those who actively support the farm families of New York state and is renewed at the end of each legislative session."

Ceretto locally has been working agriculture interests in his work to redevelop the abandoned Lehigh Valley Rail Yard in Niagara Falls. He met with agriculture industry members in August, along with members of the Niagara County Department of Economic Development and has pledged to continue this working relationship.
