The Lewiston-Porter Alumni Association has announced its gala, celebrating the 60-year history of the Lewiston-Porter Central School District, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel.

The Lewiston-Porter Alumni Association, formed in 2007, has assisted Lewiston-Porter with scholarships for graduates, teacher mini-grants to support classroom initiatives, freshmen orientation, and distinguished alumni awards.

The work of the Lewiston-Porter Alumni Association would not be possible without the support of its membership and the local community. The merging of two communities of Lewiston and Porter, which were archrivals in basketball at one time, was a dream that became a reality. The mission of the Lewiston-Porter Alumni Association is to create a partnership among alumni and the school and community that encourages involvement, enhances loyalty and serves current and future needs of the school and alumni.

The Lewiston-Porter Alumni Association has made many strides in the five years of existence and the board of directors wants to continue making strides for the students of Lewiston-Porter. This benefit will help the association to continue to strive for excellence.

Alumni membership and the community at large are invited to join in this year's gala celebration on Oct. 6 at Seneca Niagara. The event gets under way at 6 p.m. with cocktails featuring an open bar. Dinner will be offered at 7 p.m., followed by two hours of open bar and dancing to the music of Asylum. A basket and silent auction also will be a part of the evening.

Tickets are priced at $100 per person. To purchase tickets, call 716-754-2423 or 716-791-4791.
