The Lube is crowned favorite at National Buffalo Wing Festival

The award-winning motor-sports themed restaurant Quaker Steak & Lube added another award to its ever growing list of honors when it took home the 2012 Festival Favorite at the National Buffalo Wing Festival. The two day event took place on Sept. 1 and 2 at Coca Cola Field in Buffalo. Approximately 40,000 people attended the event.

"We are extremely satisfied that the excellence of our sauces is recognized by so many chicken wing fans in the Buffalo-Niagara Region," said Nick Scott Sr., president of Scott Enterprises Inc., who own the Quaker Steak & Lube franchise in Buffalo. "These awards confirm what we already know that Quaker Steak & Lube offers some of the best chicken wing specialties in the United States."

Scott Enterprises is a family-owned hospitality company based in Erie, Pa., with a portfolio that includes hotels, 13 different franchised restaurants, Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park Resort, Peek'n Peak Resort in Findley Lake and the Ambassador Center.

Every year at the National Buffalo Wing Festival, restaurants enter their sauces into three of seven categories. The categories are Best Creative Spicy, Best Creative Sweet, Best Traditional BBQ, Best Creative BBQ, Best Traditional Medium, Best Traditional Hot and Best Traditional X-Hot. A panel of judges then decides which restaurants have the best sauce based on a blind taste test

In these categories, Quaker Steak & Lube took home first-place awards in the Best Creative Sweet Category with the new Dusted Mango Habanero and in the Best Traditional X-Hot for the Triple Atomic. This is The Lube's second Festival Favorite victory; it also won the honor in 2010.
