Niagara University selected as a 'Catholic College of Distinction'by jmaloni
Niagara University is one of only 10 Catholic colleges and universities in New York state - and 96 nationwide - to be selected to the 2012-13 list of top colleges by Colleges of Distinction.
Published annually, the Colleges of Distinction guide features institutions that have demonstrated excellence in four integral areas: engaged students, great teaching, vibrant campus communities and successful graduate outcomes.
"It is an honor to represent Catholic colleges and universities in this publication, and to see our holistic approach to education recognized by Colleges of Distinction," said the Rev. Joseph L. Levesque, C.M., president of Niagara University. "I wish to commend our faculty, staff and administration for providing an excellent hands-on learning environment, and promoting excellence as a Catholic and Vincentian university in the world of today."
College of Distinction's full list of top colleges will be featured on its website and included in a forthcoming e-book, which will be released Oct. 9. The guide is based on the opinions of guidance counselors, educators, and admissions professionals, and honors colleges excelling in key areas of educational quality.
The goal of Colleges of Distinction is to provide students, counselors and parents with information about colleges and universities that excel in the aforementioned areas. Featured schools take a holistic approach to admissions, consistently excel in providing undergraduate education and have a truly national reputation.
Within the last month, Niagara University has received accolades from U.S. News & World Report and The Princeton Review.
