Do you remember when ice was delivered by the ice man, an ice cream cone cost 3 cents, or when movies cost 14 cents? Are you nostalgic for the past? Well here's your chance to learn more about the Town of Porter and those who lived here over the past 200 years.

Enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime presentation by the Town of Porter Players, as some of your family, friends and neighbors portray Porter's more interesting personalities. Meet Agnes Greensitt who survived the War of 1812; Jehiel Clark Ransom, the "Ransom" of Ransomville; Lewis Leffman, a Fort Niagara artillery sergeant during the Civil War; or Dan Wilson and Iney Wallins, and learn more about how Robert Moses and his parkway impacted Porter in the 1960s.

Let us entertain you and your guests in a special production not likely to be done again. Originally written for the Porter Founders Weekend, the play features six scenes and 15 Porter residents in a unique reader's theater production.

The second and last performance of "200 Years of Porter History" will be presented at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 17, at the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown on Church Street. The cost of this performance is priceless, but a special souvenir - including a playbill, theater ticket, popcorn and drink, T-shirt, and picture with one of the stars - is yours for just a small donation to the Town of Porter Historical Society (200 pennies or $2 for 200 years of history).
