Session set for Monday, Sept. 17, at 4 p.m. at Lewiston Town Hall

The New York State Department of Transportation will host a public information meeting on Monday, Sept. 17, to discuss the proposed rehabilitation of three bridges over the New York Power Authority Reservoir spanning the towns of Niagara and Lewiston in Niagara County. One bridge is on NY Route 265, Military Road; the other two bridges carry I-190 northbound and southbound, all over the Power Authority reservoir.

The session will run from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lewiston Town Hall, located at 1375 Ridge Road in the Town of Lewiston. A formal project presentation will be given at 6:30 p.m. Department representatives will be present to receive comments and answer individual questions.

The project proposes to replace the bridge decks on three structures including Military Road, I-190 northbound and I-190 southbound, all crossing over the New York Power Authority reservoir. Construction will be phased to replace one bridge deck at a time, and traffic will be maintained on the remaining two bridges during construction.
