Tonawanda restaurant is first of up to eight new Dunkin' Donuts scheduled to open by end of next year; new locations will add up to 200 jobs in Western New York

Press release

Dunkin' Donuts, America's all-day, everyday stop for coffee and baked goods, has announced plans for sustained growth and expansion in Western New York during the grand opening of a new restaurant in Tonawanda.

The new restaurant, at 2225 Colvin Blvd., in the Colvin-Eggert Plaza, marks the first of up to eight new Dunkin' Donuts locations to open by the end of next year under the ownership of long-time Dunkin' Donuts franchisee Timothy E. Cloe. Cloe entered the Buffalo market in March 2011 with the purchase of 11 stores.

Over the past 16 months, Cloe has acquired 10 additional restaurants in the area. The Tonawanda location and the remaining seven restaurant openings will bring the total number of stores under Cloe's ownership to 29 throughout Western New York. In total, the plan will create up to 200 new jobs throughout the region.

"We are excited to expand the Dunkin' Donuts footprint in Western New York. Over the past year, our team has become an integral part of the Buffalo community," Cloe said. "We are proud to bring the fast, friendly service and high-quality beverage and food options that are the hallmark of Dunkin' Donuts to even more residents throughout Western New York with the new restaurant openings."

The Tonawanda opening will be followed by a new Dunkin' Donuts in Lockport this coming winter. Additional restaurants are planned for Erie, Niagara and Chautauqua counties.

A 12-year Dunkin' Donuts franchisee, Cloe shares management responsibilities of his Western New York properties with his franchise's chief operating officer, Buffalo native Doug Spolyar, who oversees the day-to-day operations and management of the current 22 restaurants in the market.

The new Tonawanda restaurant is approximately 1,600 square feet, seats 24 guests and employs about 25 crew members. The restaurant is open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. It features a classic look that provides a fresh, friendly, vibrant and engaging environment for guests. Complete with a warm interior color palette, the restaurant also offers comfortable guest seating and atmospheric lighting. Additionally, the restaurant has a drive-thru for faster service.

Dunkin' Donuts' development throughout Western New York and the surrounding areas is part of a steady and strategic growth plan, which includes expanding in existing markets while entering new cities across the country to help drive the leading coffee and bakery chain's growth.
