Press release

Niagara County Republican Chairman Michael J. Norris released an audio statement Tuesday afternoon, telephoning directly from the floor of the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla., moments after delegates formally selected Gov. Mitt Romney as the Republican Party's presidential nominee.

Norris, who joined New York State Republican Chairman Ed Cox in casting New York's 95 votes for Romney, reaffirmed his personal support for Romney, who he endorsed early in the nominating process.

"Mitt Romney stands for the values of the people of Niagara County," Norris said. "He stands for lower taxes. He stands for less government. We have serious problems facing our country. We need someone with the experience and the understanding to create good-paying jobs and to put people back to work. I ask all Niagara County residents to take a serious look at the Republican nominee, Gov. Mitt Romney. He is the right person to put our country back on track."
