Operating room staff members at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center joined board member Nancy Gara, front row center, and Chief of Robotic Surgery Dr. Donna Azam Feldman, first row right, on Friday to celebrate "SAL" the Surgical Robot's 100th surgery at the medical center. The milestone operation was performed by obstetrician/gynecologist Dr. Roger Jammal.

"SAL," which stands for SaveALife, is actually the da Vinci Si Surgical System. Specially trained surgeons began using SAL in March and the system is now utilized by more than a dozen gynecologists, gynecological oncologists, urologists, colorectal surgeons and general surgeons to perform minimally invasive robotic surgery at Memorial.

The $1.7 million da Vinci Si System gives Memorial's patients access to the most effective, least invasive surgical treatment option available today. For more information, call Memorial's Minimally Invasive Robotic Surgery Hotline at 716-278-4492 or visithttp://www.nfmmc.org/Services/daVinci.
