The Town of Grand Island Department of Parks and Recreation reports that Ed Ball Park playground at the corner of Love and Stony Point Roads is now up and ready for use.
The department also reports that work to come includes addition of a funnel ball game, bike rack and pathway, with hopes of installation of a larger shelter.
"The large play equipment was a donation from an Island family," reports Linda Tufillaro, director of the Department of Parks and Recreation. "This was a great community project. A large 'Thank you' goes out to all."
Tufillaro noted that post holes were donated by Bills Post Hole Driller, volunteer community helpers, led by Ray Gress, assisted in patrol, set up and cleanup, and installation; and tree beds by the Town Parks Department, and the boulders were delivered and placed by the Town Highway Department.
