Youngstown author Dave Curtis has released his first book, "The Eyes Have It," a historical-fiction novel, and will be in Lewiston for a book signing on Saturday, Aug. 4

"I always wanted to try writing, so I took a stab at it, and the publisher told me that I wrote like a pro," Curtis said.

The story follows a young man out of college who surprisingly gets recruited by an intelligence agency. His life of secrecy ran smooth until his own son, who grew up to work for the FBI, discovers information linking his father to a past case.

Readers will find the turnout intriguing and unexpected. Currently, Curtis is working on a second novel that will bring back the son in a story involving serial killers and investigations.

Curtis will be at the Orange Cat Café, located at 703 Center St., in the Village of Lewiston, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
