There's something new for everyone at this year's Niagara County Fair, Aug. 1 to 5 on Lake Avenue in Lockport.

New entertainment on the main stage includes drum sounds of Caribbean Extravaganza; Nine Miles To Empty; the guitar king, Jim Luttrell; and 7th Heaven.

Newcomers to the food court stage are 2nd Time Around playing rock 'n' roll from the '50s through the '80s and "Mr. Sunshine" with a family sing-a-long.

A new third entertainment stage located next to the 4-H milk bar will feature Lochside Celtic Band, a 4-H Achievement Dance; Mama Earth, an interactive program highlighting our place on the planet; Gravitational Bull, doing juggling stage shows; Rachel Mellas; and Glen Colton.

Pavement entertainment will include Fort Niagara's English Country Dancers, Airplay, Hot Country Liners and a square dance where all fairgoers may join in and learn the dances.

You will find Clumsy the Clown roaming the fairgrounds on Friday night along with your favorite cartoon characters on Saturday and Sunday.

Entertainers returning to the fair include Craig Wilkins, Lenny Revell, hypnotist Robert Saviola, Jonesie, Tanzen Dancers, Niagara Experience Players, Niagara Frontier Fiddlers Club Lockport Community Band, and Billy "D."

Food wise, new vendors have gourmet hot dogs and a variety of sausage sandwiches. The 4-H 75th anniversary cake quilt will be available for tasters on Saturday afternoon. Gourmet popcorn will be available throughout the fair to support 4-H scholarships, trips and awards.

Look for the returning antique tractor parade, farmer's market and the 4-H livestock auction, The robotics teams' demos, the Wrights Corners-sponsored beer tents, a MercyFlight landing, the classic car show, Teddy bear picnic, Paul Bunyan contest, greased pole contest and the fireworks display at 10 p.m. on Friday.

Prizes can be won at the "Hot Shot" basketball contest held Wednesday through Saturday at 5 p.m., and with the 4-H and QR code scavenger hunts held daily.

The "Book Barn" will be open daily from noon to 6 p.m. for fairgoers to "bring a book and take a book."

Admission to the fair is $2 per person Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, and $3 on Friday and Saturday. A discount weekly pass for $10 is available at the fair office through July 31.
