The Aquarium of Niagara is the beneficiary of $1,000 thanks to a trio of business leaders. Marketing directors presented Gay B. Molnar, director of development at the Aquarium, with a check recently. Marketing directors at three area businesses chose the Aquarium of Niagara as the recipient of its recent fundraising efforts. Last week the trio presented a $1,000 check to Gay Molnar, the Aquarium of Niagara's director of development.
Their donation is to be used toward the Aquarium of Niagara's new coral reef exhibit, now under construction. It is expected to open sometime this winter.
Their project involved selling raffle tickets at various sites throughout Niagara and Erie counties. The threesome included Martha Ward, director of sales for Budget Rent a Car, including the Niagara Falls site; Julie Clark, marketing director for Fashion Outlets of Niagara; and Eileen Fox, marketing coordinator for the Hard Rock Café, Niagara Falls.
"The Aquarium is a hidden jewel," Ward said. After visiting the local attraction, she said, "I loved it."
Clark said, "We're always so supportive of the Aquarium. It just seemed like the right thing to do."
"It was all Martha's idea," Fox said.
Any other groups or organizations that would like to financially help the coral reef project may contact Molnar at 716-285-3575, ext. 204.
