"Tuesday in the Park" double-headliner show on July 11

Known for its powerful live shows, YES teams up with another pioneer in progressive rock, Procol Harum, for an epic double-headlining gig July 17 at Artpark's Outdoor Amphitheater. The music gets underway at 6:30 p.m. as part of the venue's weekly "Tuesday in the Park" concert series.

YES is an English rock band that achieved worldwide success with its progressive, art and symphonic-style of rock music. Regarded as one of the pioneers of the progressive genre, YES is known for its lengthy songs, mystical lyrics, elaborate album art, and live stage sets. No fewer than 18 musicians have been a part of the band's lineup; its currently comprised of singer Jon Davison, bassist Chris Squire, guitarist Steve Howe, drummer Alan White, and keyboardist Geoff Downes.

Procol Harum, with its monster hit "A Whiter Shade of Pale," evolved from a studio ensemble into a successful live act. At its most accessible, as on "A Whiter Shade of Pale" and "Conquistador," the band was one of the most popular progressive rock bands, its singles outselling all rivals. The group's most ambitious album tracks still have a strong following.

The amphitheater gates open at 4:30 p.m. and can be accessed via the Portage Road entrance off of Center Street or through South Fourth Street. Onsite parking is $5. YES with very special guest Procol Harum tickets are $5 (general admission) through Saturday, and then $10 from Sunday until showtime. Priority tickets are available for $25, and allow patrons to access an exclusive, standing-room-only area directly in front of the stage. VIP packages are available for $50, and include one ticket on either the "Producer's Deck" or the "Director's Suite" (based on availability), parking, and waitress service.

General admission and priority tickets can be purchased at the Artpark Box Office, by phone at 716-754-4375 or 1-888-223-6000, and online at www.tickets.com and www.artpark.net. VIP packages can only be purchased in person at the Artpark Box Office or by calling 716-754-4375.
