ABC Preschool is hosting an open house for parents of prospective 3 and 4 year olds from 6:30 until 8 p.m. on Aug. 21.
New for the 2012-13 school year, ABC will offer classes five days a week. Parents can choose which days best fit their schedules with a two-day minimum (dependent on spaces available).
Since 1976, ABC Preschool has been preparing young children for kindergarten by providing preschool education with a Christian foundation in a safe and caring environment. Energetic and experienced staff works with the children to help them learn and develop their skills. Each child receives individual attention, and instruction is tailored to each child's ability. Teachers and aids are CPR certified. The bright and spacious classroom has areas for study, group and play. The school also has an additional activity room and outside playground.
Following a daily routine, classes include instructional lessons, music, snack, stories, playtime "centers," and occasional special visitors. Stories are often based on biblical teachings to provide children with a moral foundation for their development.
Playtime is another important part of a child's learning process. It fosters creativity, friendship, problem-solving abilities and self-expression. Therefore, ABC offers playtime "centers" similar to a kindergarten classroom setting. Parents are able to observe during class time. There are also daily opportunities for parents to volunteer in the classroom.
Sponsored by Ransomville Free Methodist Church, ABC Preschool is housed in the recently remodeled north wing of the church building, located at 3924 Ransomville Road, Ransomville.
