Wallenda walk update for June 11

A meeting was held Monday morning by Niagara USA hospitality constituents to discuss the most recent information regarding Nik Wallenda's June 15 wirewalk across Niagara Falls.

•Vouchers can be redeemed for wristbands from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Niagara Tourism & Convention Corporation tent on Old Falls Street; 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Cave of the Winds kiosk on Goat Island, in Niagara Falls State Park; or from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the kiosk in front of the Visitor's Center in Niagara Falls State Park. A photo ID and hard copy of voucher are required.

•In addition to Niagara Falls municipal parking, parking will be available at the Niagara Falls Coach Lines parking lot on Buffalo Avenue starting at 5 p.m. Friday. For $10, patrons will be able to park for the day.

•Parking will also be available for 600 vehicles at the New York Power Authority. Niagara Falls Coach Lines will run shuttles from 5 p.m., every 30 minutes, until 1 a.m. The route taken will be on Robert Moses Parkway South, with drop off and pick-up happening at 454 Main St., (next to the Howard Johnson Hotel).

•The Niagara Falls Police Department will handle traffic patterns as they come into the city, including a highly trafficked Rainbow Bridge. The NFPD expects parking lots will be filled the day of the walk.

•Be the first to purchase Wallenda merchandise Tuesday, starting at 5 p.m., at the Niagara Chamber USA mixer at the Niagara Falls Aquarium.

•Haverfield Aviation of Harrisburg, Pa., will be involved with installation of the wire over the Niagara Gorge.
