Mount St. Mary's doctor receives papal blessing
by jmaloniFri, Jun 1st 2012 06:20 pm

Dr. John Huebschmann, an anesthesiologist at Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, recently returned from a nine-day medical service mission in Europe with the "Hope For Tomorrow" foundation. This culminated in a meeting and blessing from Pope Benedict XVI on May 31.
Huebschmann brought 6-year-old Cong Huu Nguyen to receive the blessing. In 2010, Huebschmann was part of a surgical team (including plastic surgeons Dr. Jeffrey Meilman of Buffalo and Dr. Federico Doldan of Mount St. Mary's) that removed a large birthmark from the face of young Huu, who was brought to Lewiston by the foundation from his native Vietnam.
