Wallenda walk at Niagara Falls update

A meeting was held Tuesday morning by Niagara USA hospitality constituents to discuss the most recent information regarding Nik Wallenda's June 15 tightrope walk across Niagara Falls.

•The Niagara Tourism and Convention Corporation is compiling information regarding other activities happening around the city. The website WalktheFalls.com is updated daily.

•Signage will be on display in the downtown corridor of Niagara Falls as early as June 5. A completed graphic is and available for business windows. The image is also available digitally, including a PDF file.

•Volunteers (18 years of age and older) are sought to help with the massive amount of tourists and residents that will come to Niagara USA on June 15. Greeters will be positioned throughout the downtown corridor and throughout Niagara Falls State Park. They will hand out information, answer questions and generally make sure visitors have an enjoyable experience. Volunteers also will staff an information tent on Old Falls Street.

•Niagara Falls Coach Lines will shuttle visitors from a designated parking lot to the downtown corridor on June 15. Five buses will be on hand from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. to drive 44 adults per bus. The cost will be $5 per person. The public is encouraged to arrive early to downtown Niagara Falls, and to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
