War of 1812 walk

Walking enthusiasts of all ages can enjoy learning about America's War of 1812 history on Great Lakes Seaway Trail VolksWalks taking place in Lewiston, Youngstown, Buffalo and other communities daily, from dawn to dusk.

The Great Lakes Seaway Trail is a 518-mile National Scenic Byway in New York and Pennsylvania. Local starting locations are the Little Yellow Artisan House, 476 Center St., in Lewiston, and the Village Diner, 425 Main St., Youngstown.

Walkers completing the 3.1-mile and 6.2-mile Great Lakes Seaway Trail VolksWalks can earn pins featuring a sailing ship, cannon, soldier, Fort Ontario and Fort La Presentation, crossed rifles, a young America's flag, the burning of Buffalo, and the famous words flown on the USS Niagara's battle flag.
