The eighth annual Golf Classic, sponsored by St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church and School, will be held Monday, July 30, at Niagara Frontier Country Club.

The day will include lunch, 18 holes of golf, and dinner, which will feature both live and silent auctions. Tickets may be obtained by contacting St. Peter's rectory or committee members. Dinner-only tickets are available, as are sponsorship opportunities at various levels of support.

Dr. James P. Moore is again serving as chairman, assisted by committee members Rich Helfrich, Ken Kenney, Tom Kirsch, Colleen Larkin, Richard Low, George McGrath and Linus Ormsby.

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the parish and its highly ranked elementary school. Last year, the tournament allowed the school to add Smart Boards to several classrooms. Smart Boards improve learning outcomes by combining the simplicity of a whiteboard with interactive computer technology. The system allows teachers to deliver lessons plans, write notes in digital ink, and save what appears on the board, all with the click of a mouse.

In the photo, St. Peter's kindergarten teacher Linda Calandrelli demonstrates use of the Smart Board computer technology to Moore, left, and the Rev. Michael Zuffoletto, pastor of the parish.

St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church is located at 620 Center St., Lewiston. For more information, call 716-754-4118.
