Press release

The Town of Porter Democratic Committee, which is representative of the Village of Youngstown and the Town of Porter, has announced its endorsement of two village incumbents.

Town Democratic Chairman Ernest A. Lavigueur cited the accomplishments of Mayor Raleigh Reynolds and Trustee Steven Suitor since their election in 2008. The incumbents have promoted the two-way communications between the Village Board and the community, as well as made themselves readily accessible to all the concerns of village residents.

A digital phone system and new accounting software were installed in the Village Office. The Youngstown Village website was updated to make it more user-friendly.

In addition, they have explored and implemented new ideas to better provide for cost effectiveness in local government while maintaining the quality of life in the village. Finally, they continue to work for the cleanup and redevelopment of the Cold Storage property.

"As we move into the future, the Porter Democratic Committee believes that Raleigh Reynolds and Steven Suitor have the desire and skills necessary to ensure that the Youngstown community grows and prospers, making the village a great place to live and raise a family," Lavigueur said.

Polls will be open between the hours of noon and 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, at the Red Brick School Village Center gymnasium.
