Daredevil Nik Wallenda will be in Niagara Falls Wednesday morning to announce June 15 as the date for his attempt to walk across the Horseshoe Falls on a tightrope.
Sources tell Bullet News that Wallenda will make the announcement around 8 a.m. on ABC's "Good Morning America." ABC has won the rights to broadcast the wirewalk live, which will take place on the evening of the 15th. A specific time has not been determined, but sources also say it will be 7 or 8 p.m.
Wallenda could not be reached for comment Monday.
Niagara Parks Commission Chairwoman Janice Thomson said June 15 is one of the dates under consideration, but added she could not comment further. She did confirm a "major American network" was in Niagara Falls Monday scouting locations to make some kind of announcement on Wednesday.
"That's when we are hoping to make the date public," she said. "We're just waiting for some details to be worked out."
